A accurately laser cut wood kit supplemented by injection moulded roof, windows and doors. Glue and paints required to complete model.
This new kit fulfills an important need for a wooden station building in Peco's Lineside Kits range. For many country and secondary routes, as well as branchlines, a wooden building was more likely to be provided. They were cheaper to erect, and apart from an (often) infrequent lick of paint they required, or at least received, little further maintenance. Our model, generic in design, represents a typical structure with horizontal wooden boards, and can be built with or without the canopy. In a departure for PECO, the kit is "mixed media", that is, a combination of plastic parts, and laser-cut components from MDF and mount board. Assembly is very straight forward as the clear exploded diagrams on the instructions guide the modeller through each stage. The laser cut detail of the canopy brackets are particularly eye-catching. Once painted, the model will undoubtedly fit nicely on many layouts. It doesn't't even have to be a station. Suitably modified it could easily represent a pavilion, shed, or workshop. The plastic parts are taken from the LK-12 and LK-13 station kits, and once constructed the finished article makes for an attractive addition to any layout.
